Born in London, England in 1938, Mike Francis received his degree from the prestigious St. Martins and Central School of Art in 1953.

In 1972 Francis was awarded the NATIONAL GALLERY'S 150TH ANNIVERSARY POSTER AWARD – the only contemporary artist's work to appear on a National Gallery poster.

From 1974 until present day Francis's work has been shown at various exhibitions and art fairs in Paris, Basle, Cologne, Stockholm, Munich, Washington, New York and London, with numerous works purchased for private and public collections including: Jamaican Embassy, UK; Urs Schwarzenbach, UK; Pears Collection, UK; Ace Publicity Shell, UK; Prince Murat, France; Bob Monkhouse, UK; Robbie Williams, UK; Chris Wright, UK.

Described as a realist, Francis' work, although technically real, also conveys his dry sense of humor, adding a new dimension to familiar images, dreams and fantasies.
