" My ideas and inspiration come from a connectedness with nature. Musically speaking, painting, for me, is akin to playing an instrument where one applies to it something of one's self so that the viewer, or listener, connects with the piece almost subliminally. "
BIOGRAPHYWarren Salter was born in Smithton, Tasmania. After twenty years in the world of graphic design, Salter moved his family to Sunshine Beach, Queensland where a vibrant paradise of working artists encouraged him to paint full time and make his living as an artist. Salter has exhibited successfully for over 10 years throughout Australia and Europe and over this time developed a range of styles on large canvases including his unmistakable floral style. As with many artists who have lived in and loved the Australian landscape and abundance of nature Salter comments 'An awareness of natures strong presence is a very real connection to a higher mind for me, I'm drawn to the natural environment, trees, grasses flowers and the sea and mountains and their structures as if they were relatives of mine, indeed it is a relatedness I can only express on canvas.'
